You pay for help, so you never get sold.
Charging students a small, flat fee instead of charging universities is a design choice. It keeps every incentive pointing at good advice: no ranking bought, no data sold, no pressure to recommend the option that pays us.
Questions before you start?
The honest answers.
What students and parents ask first about how Cubico is paid for.
What can I do for free?
You can see a limited set of university matches with full reasoning, get one demo activity list review, and get coaching on one or two supplemental essays. No card needed.
What does Cubico Plus include?
Unlimited matchmaking, supplemental essay coaching for up to 20 universities, activity list reviews with STAR phrasing, and the AI Counsellor's shortlist, outlines and timeline, for USD 10 a month.
How does the human counsellor work?
At any step you can request a counsellor. They receive a full brief, evaluate what Cubico has produced and take on as much of your application as you want. The rate is agreed with you and depends on counsellor availability. It is separate from Cubico Plus.
Do you ever sell student data or charge universities for placement?
Never. We do not sell student access, and there is no pay-to-rank: a university cannot buy its way up a student's matches. A student's data powers matching and briefings for you, and for a counsellor only if you bring one in, and nothing else.
Does paying change my match results?
No. Scoring is deterministic and identical on every plan. Cubico Plus gives you more matches and more coaching; it never puts a thumb on the scale.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel Cubico Plus whenever you like and you go back to the free plan. Your profile, matches and drafts stay in your account.
